We approach treatment from a relational and strengths based perspective to help children develop effective coping and problem solving skills.

Helping children to be able to see themselves as separate from their symptoms.

This is what we do.

Child and Adolescent Individual Therapy

Through a safe and collaborative therapeutic relationship, we support children in developing their capacity to understand their feelings and behaviors, participate in family life, build close relationships with others, and be more flexible and better able to handle the challenges life throws at them.

This allows children to more fully engage in their lives with confidence, self-esteem, and emotional regulation.

If your child suffers from anxiety or OCD...

Upshur Bren Psychology Group has several providers who specialize in Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), a parent-based treatment modality for childhood anxiety and OCD.

If you are a parent of a child who struggles with anxiety, you probably feel compelled to do all you can to make that anxiety go away. As a result, you may end up making accommodations to help your child avoid feeling anxious. While these accommodations can help to calm them down in the moment, they can inadvertently lead to increased dependence on you for managing their anxious feelings.

With SPACE, parents learn how to respond to their child's anxiety in a way that increases their child’s ability to effectively cope with anxiety in the moment and long term, without depending on their parents to take the anxiety away
