Creating organizational systems, developing a structured game plan, and learning how to manage your time can combat the overwhelm and make life feel more manageable.
When you’re deep in it, it can be hard to see the big picture. Our coaches will work with you to identify specific problems you may have missed, create custom solutions that fit your unique situation, and help you follow through with the execution of the plan.
Executive functions drive a big part of our daily life, yet it’s common for many people to never have heard of this term before. Executive functions are a cognitive network in the brain’s frontal lobe that controls everything from focus, to attention, and impulse inhibition. You can think of it like the command center of the brain.
The good thing is that while some people may naturally have strength in these areas (like that coworker who is always on time and organized) these are all learnable skills!
Having a hard time staying focused and becoming easily overwhelmed
Becoming easily distracted, impulsive, or reactive
Emotion regulation difficulty (having lots of tantrums, getting easily frustrated, a short fuse)
Struggling to make new friends
Having received a diagnosis of ADHD
Struggling with time management
Feeling constantly overwhelmed and burnt out
Having difficulty with follow through
Trouble with organizing, planning, and prioritizing tasks
Challenges switching between tasks and incorporate new information
Having received a diagnosis of ADHD
We will sit down with you and/or your child to learn what you're struggling with, what's not working, and what you feel you need support accomplishing.
This can be anything from "my child never remembers to turn in his homework" to "managing my family's schedule is very overwhelming" or even "I want to have a successful transition from high school to college."
We will decide what exactly would make your life function more smoothly. This can range from anything like navigating peer and workplace relationships, creating a better system for completing homework or studying for assignments, managing competing priorities at work, or organizing a family schedule.
