Louise Olson is a Postdoctoral Psychology Fellow with Upshur Bren Psychology Group who completed her PsyD in School Psychology at the University at Albany, SUNY. Louise works with children, adolescents, and adults of all ages. She sees clients for a variety of concerns, including but not limited to anxiety, life transitions, executive functioning challenges, school avoidance and processing trauma. Louise has a passion for supporting bereaved individuals and their families, parent-child dyads, and individuals with chronic pain and illness. She has training in cognitive behavioral therapy, executive function coaching, play therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and Building Blocks, a parent-child therapy aimed at strengthening bonding and attachment between caregivers and young children ages 0-5. Louise is also a Nationally Certified School Psychologist with experience working in school settings at the elementary, secondary, and therapeutic school levels.

Through an integrative therapy approach and multicultural lens, Louise tailors treatment plans to each client’s specific challenges and circumstances. She approaches therapy from a place of curiosity, humor, and supportive accountability and values developing a trusting, open, and understanding relationship with each of her clients. Louise aims to create a space where clients feel comfortable expressing themselves and exploring their behavior, thoughts, and emotions.

Louise completed her internship in Clinical Health Psychology at New Alternatives for Children, a NYC-based non-profit that specializes in providing comprehensive family support services to children with medical complexities. She has a B.A. from Lafayette College with a double major in Psychology and Anthropology/Sociology and a minor in Women & Gender Studies.
