The Mothercentric™ Approach brings an Internal Family Systems-informed, holistic vision for understanding and treating Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADS) in women.
Rather than viewing these new mothers as patients with a disorder to be treated, this approach views them as women who are reacting to the pressures of a society filled with shame and guilt. This expands our treatment options and allows us to get to the heart of the issue by using parts work during matrescence and highlighting the importance of their needs and values.

Join Jessica Sorci, LMFT, PMH-C and Rebecca Geshuri, LMFT, PMH-C, creators of The Mothercentric Approach™ and certified in both Internal Family Systems and Perinatal Mental Health, for a 3-hour experiential workshop designed to focus on "Mom Parts" that cycle together around juggling the competing needs of mothers and their children.
This novel treatment approach depathologizes mental health struggles of moms and offers powerful new ways of working with “Mom Parts” to address and support women battling feelings of rage, panic, perfectionism, and regret, among others.
By implementing Internal Family Systems concepts, participants will be able to identify components of the client’s inner system that feed such cycles, and interact with those parts to help them heal. This experiential and didactic training will also allow participants to explore their own parts as a way of gaining deeper understanding, which will ultimately support their clients' overall wellbeing and mental health.
